- Little Owl – Neighborhood gem in West Village – need reservations.
- Jules – on St. Mark’s is our family fave. Simple and delicious steak frites & mussels plus live jazz every night! It’s been our go to for years!
- Minetta Tavern – “Parisian steakhouse meets classic New York City tavern.”
- Cafe Orlin – Also on St. Mark’s brunch/lunch w a North African/Moroccan twist.
- Oda House – Georgian food (country, not state) for a unique and totally different experience. We were pleasantly surprised by how good the food (and wine) was – the baked bread with egg & cheese…yum! Plus, how often do you see a Georgian Restaurant? You read it here first Georgia is the next hot spot!
- Bemelman’s for classic cocktails. The Mark Hotel is a nice place for another drink while you’re in the hood.
- Schiller’s – Lower East Side cocktails or brunch.
- Locanda Verde – a classic staple any time including breakfast.
- Marc Forgione (a trusted friend recommends).
- Scarpetta – popular & busy Italian.
- Best Pizza is really Di Faro’s, but it’s far & not convenient. Roberta’s in Bushwick is fun, plus for the street art it’s worth the trek – late lunch/early dinner is easiest to get into.
- Grimaldi’s & Juliana’s are both good for ease & convenience just right across the Brooklyn Bridge & of course a nice walk over.
- Lupulo – modern cool Portuguese style
